Saint Michael’s Celtic Cross
Historic Celtic Cross from Tiree

This is a scale artists reconstruction by Stuart Fellowes depicting the 16th century St. Michaels’s Celtic Cross and shows how this stone cross may have looked when originally carved. Only the shaft of this cross remains and it shows carved image of St Michael in the act of slaying the dragon. The lower panel shows Anna MacLean, Prioress of Iona interacting with a death figure. Today the shaft of the cross can be found at Soroby, Tiree
