Saint Martin’s Celtic Cross Historic Celtic Cross from Iona
This is a scale artists reconstruction by Stuart Fellowes depicting the 9th century St. Martin’s Celtic Cross and shows how this epidiorite stone cross may have looked when originally carved. This East face depicts biblical scenes supported by Celtic animals and a lower panel of serpents in a knotwork pattern. Today the cross is standing outside Iona Abbey
This piece is a resin cast reproduction of Stuarts’ original hand-carved sculpture
