Rosemarkie Pictish Tree of Life
Historic Pictish symbol stone from Ross-shire
This piece is a miniature artist’s reconstruction of the 8th century Rosemarkie Pictish “Tree Of Life” stone and shows how the stone may have looked when originally carved. It symbolises growth and development of knowledge and wisdom. In Christian belief the Tree of Life was the “tree of eternal life” in the Garden of Eden
Today the stone is on display at the Groam House Museum, Rosemarkie
This piece is a resin cast reproduction of Stuarts’ original hand-carved sculpture
