Aberlemno “Roadside” Pictish Cross Historic Pictish cross slab from the village of Aberlemno
This is a scale reconstruction by Stuart Fellowes depicting the cross face of the 9th Century Pictish Cross slab commonly known as the “Roadside Cross”. A large, finely carved sandstone slab that today can be found located at the side of the road at Aberlemno. The Christian Cross featuring fine animal, interlace and key patterns and is flanked by two praying Angels. At the base of the cross is depicted 4 Pictish beasts.
