“Saint Columba’s Pillow” Celtic Cross Historic Celtic Cross from Iona
This is a scale artists reconstruction by Stuart Fellowes depicting the 6th Century “Saint Columba’s Pillow” Celtic Cross stone. A carved Sandstone boulder that today can be found displayed in Iona Abbey. It is reputed that this is the stone that Columba laid his head on to sleep each night and which later marked his grave after his death.
