Monreith Celtic Cross Historic Celtic cross from Wigtownshire
This is a scale artists reconstruction by Stuart Fellowes depicting the 10th century Monreith Celtic Cross and shows how this stone cross may have looked when originally carved. It is a “Wheel headed” cross with interlace in fill and is of the distinct “Whithorn” style of carving. Today the cross is on display at the Whithorn Priory Museum.
This piece is a resin cast reproduction of Stuarts’ original hand-carved sculpture
