MacKinnon’s Celtic Cross Historic Celtic cross from Argyll
This is a scale artists reconstruction by Stuart Fellowes depicting the 15th century MacKinnons Celtic Cross and shows how this high cross may have looked when originally carved. The cross was dedicated to Finguine MacKinnon who was at one time abbot of Iona and depicts the crucifixion surrounded by foliate carvings. Originally this cross stood at Kirkapol Chapel on Tiree but today the cross stands at Inveraray Castle
This piece is a resin cast reproduction of Stuarts’ original hand-carved sculpture
