Kildalton Celtic Cross Historic Celtic cross from Islay
This is a scale artists reconstruction by Stuart Fellowes depicting the 8th century Kildalton Celtic Cross and shows how this epidiorite stone cross may have looked when originally carved. The cross is richly decorated in the “Iona” style of carving and depicts biblical figures and scenes. Today the cross stands at Kildalton Chapel, Islay.
This piece is a resin cast reproduction of Stuarts’ original hand-carved sculpture
