Iona Tree of Life Celtic symbol stone Historic symbol stone from Iona
This is an artists reconstruction of a 14th Century tree of life symbol stone. It shows how the stone may have looked when it was originally carved. This piece depicts a “Tree Of Life” symbol flanked either side by two styles of interlaced vines and foliage. The carving style used on this stone belongs to what is known as the “Iona school”.
Today the stone is on display at Iona Abbey.
This piece is a resin cast reproduction of Stuarts’ original hand-carved sculpture
