“Golgotha Stone” Cross slab Historic Cross slab from Wigtownshire
This is a scale artists reconstruction by Stuart Fellowes depicting the 7th century “Golgotha Stone” and showing how the stone may have looked when originally carved. The stone is carved with a central cross flanked by two smaller crosses, representing the cross of Christ and those of the two thieves who were crucified with him. It is currently on display at the Whithorn Priory Museum.
This piece is a resin cast reproduction of Stuarts’ original hand-carved sculpture
