Farr Pictish Cross Slab Historic Pictish Cross slab from Sutherland
This is a scale artists reconstruction by Stuart Fellowes depicting the 9th Century Farr Pictish Cross. A intricately carved slate cross slab that today can be found located in the grounds of Strathnaver Museum, Bettyhill. The Christian cross is decorated with knotwork and key patterns. Surrounding the cross are panels depicting key and scroll patterns. At the base of the cross is a panel shat shows what are believed to be 2 Pictish Geese, a symbol of home and hearth.
This piece is a resin cast reproduction of Stuarts’ original hand-carved sculpture
