This is a contemporary sculpture based on early Celtic & Pictish rock-art carvings and depicts the name “Scotland”
This piece was inspired by the border marker stone at Carter Bar on the Scotland / England border.
The official Scotland - England border was established in 1237 by the Treaty Of York, between Scotland and England. The border runs for 96 miles between the River Tweed on the East Coast and the Solway Firth in the West.
This sculpture is intended to be displayed to “create a bit of Scotland” anywhere in the world
