Celtic & Pictish Crosses & carved stones
Historic Architecture models
This Cross is a contemporary design by Stuart Fellowes and is named the “Patriot’s Cross”
It is styled on medieval Stone carved Celtic High Crosses and uses Celtic knotwork, Triskel, Triquetra and Thistle design elements.
On each arm of the cross, the knotwork forms a Saltire which is highlighted in paint. The centre boss depicts a guardian Thistle, the flower of Scotland. Above is a Triquetra symbol which denotes any trinity, religious or secular that you ascribe to it. Below is a Triskel symbol, denoting the forward progress of the Nation of Scotland. To each side of the central boss is a frame containing a dark maroon red colour, which represents Energy, Willpower, Strength, Courage and Passion. All these attributes have been proven within the Scottish Spirit down through the centuries. At the base of the cross is a cold-cast bronze plaque bearing the Gaelic “Alba Gu Brath” Commonly translated to English as “Scotland Forever” but literally it is “Scotland until judgement”
This cross embodies the symbols of the Spirit of Scotland and it brings you a Wee bit of that Scottish Spirit.
This piece comes ready with a hanging hole on the rear to enable it to be hung flush to the wall from a pin-nail.
Hand painted. Resin cast with hand polished Cold-cast Bronze reproduction of Stuart Fellowes’ original sculpture.
