This contemporary design & sculpture was inspired by Celtic and Pictish carved rock art. It depicts an accurate topographical model of the Island of Iona
Iona (Scottish Gaelic: Ì Chaluim Chille) is a small island in the Inner Hebrides. Populated since the Stone Age, It was where St. Columba first brought Christianity to Scotland and has been a centre of Celtic Monasticism ever since and is today renowned for its tranquility. Iona has a unique place in the Spiritual history of Scotland .Today it is a favourite destination for travellers from all over the world. Iona is an island where people have lived, worked and worshipped over many centuries. It has attracted The spiritual and artistic folk and has become the final resting place for many ancient Kings and Clan Chieftains.
This piece comes ready with a hanging hole on the rear to enable it to be hung flush to the wall from a pin-nail.
